The world's most northern surf contest! Lofoten Masters was held for the first time in 2007. There was only a handful of surfers in our region and we wanted to create a yearly event where surfers could meet, have fun and experience the arctic aloha.
The competition has evolved from a gathering of local surfers, to an international event commanding worldwide media attention. Although the competition has become more formal, we continue to focus on creating an event where everyone, whatever nationality, gender or surf-experience, feels welcome and taken care of. Our hope is that everyone will go home with a desire to come back next year. The well being of the people in and out of the water are equally important to us. Our vision is to create Europe's finest surf competition.
